Thank you Phil

As we pass the half way point in this calendar year, we also mark the first six months with our Head Coach Phil Thomas at RLTC. I’d like to thank him for all the hard work he has put in to build the foundations for a successful coaching set up for the club now and in the coming years.

Courts this weekend, Tournaments, Free Strawberries at Wimbledon!

Court availability this weekend:

On Sunday, on behalf of the LTA/Tennis Wales the club is hosting county finals of the Road to Wimbledon event, with some of south Wales' most talented juniors. This will use 3 tiger turf courts and 3 clay courts from 11am-4pm. This obviously depends slightly on lengths of matches, and before 11am, some may turn up early to warm up on those courts, and it is hoped that from approx 2.30pm only 4 courts will be required. That still leaves 4 courts for members all day, and all 10 courts available from about 4pm onwards.

Court maintenance this week

Although we obviously would have preferred to do the work out of season, some of the fences for courts 4 and 9 (the top tiger turf, and the highest hard court) are being replaced this week. These courts will be out of action this week for safety reasons. We will endeavour to get the work done as quickly as possible.

Teas this Saturday 11th and Handicap Draw

I'm very pleased to say that teas will again be available at the club this Saturday (11th May) at 4.30. This great and much loved tradition at our club is well worth preserving, and my thanks on behalf of the whole club go to those who volunteer to help keep it going. There are still a few Saturdays awaiting volunteers, so if you can help out, please sign up on the sheet on the club noticeboard, or speak to Lisa.
