Teas Today Sat Aug 24th

There are some wonderful cakes left over from yesterday's spectacular spread following Chris's Memorial Service. They will be available in the clubhouse at 4.30pm this afternoon, and contributions from this afternoon's teas will be donated to the charities supported by Chris, namely Tenovus and Velindre.

Teas this Saturday August 17th

I'm delighted to say that teas will again be available at RLTC this Saturday 17th August, 4.30pm. The rugby is on terrestrial tv, (K.O.2.15pm), so can be on the clubhouse tv should there be demand. Tennis, Teas, and International Sport - a perfect Saturday afternoon! My thanks, our thanks of course to all those who help keep the teas tradition going.

Chris Gray

It is with deep sadness that I’m writing to convey the news that after his recent illness, Chris Gray passed away yesterday.  Chris, as all of us who were privileged to know him will testify, was one of the most generous and dedicated members of Radyr Lawn Tennis Club.

Having joined the club back in the early eighties, he is the only person to have his name on all the honours boards for which he is eligible. On the court, he played for our highest teams, and won all the trophies available in club tournaments, and as recently as summer 2018, helping our 3rd team gain promotion.

Thank you

A brief but heartfelt thank you to all those who made yesterday's Nature Valley Tennis event such a great success. It was wonderful to see so many people come and taste the joys of tennis, and clearly enjoy the experience. It was equally heartwarming to see how many members volunteered to help out in so many different ways - from providing a welcome at the gate, or playing some tennis with the visitors, or helping with our fabulous teas, or manning the bar, or later on sorting out the BBQ.

Thank you Phil

As we pass the half way point in this calendar year, we also mark the first six months with our Head Coach Phil Thomas at RLTC. I’d like to thank him for all the hard work he has put in to build the foundations for a successful coaching set up for the club now and in the coming years.
