Coaching Update

Like any organisation, it's important that Radyr LTC constantly reviews what it offers. With the growth in our numbers, and with our on and off court facilities now being amongst the best in Wales, a sub committee representing all areas of the club looked at our coaching. As you can imagine it was a difficult meeting for all of us, as Drew has given much to the club, and on a personal level, we all like him a great deal. However, after much very careful consideration and discussion, it was decided that in the best interests of the club as a whole, that we would be advertising this autumn for a Head Coach to start in 2019 (or possibly a “Director of Tennis”), pending further discussion on a new role specification. Drew has been invited to apply, but has currently indicated that he'll be looking elsewhere.

The plan is to have a Head Coach in place for January 2019, and in the meantime, Drew continues in his role as Head Coach, and coaching should continue similarly to previous terms. I'm aware that there are some issues around the timing of courses for the forthcoming term, which we will endeavour to resolve as best we can. If you have any issues with any coaching changes this autumn, please email (which is then seen by both Drew and myself), so we can do our best to come to a mutually agreeable solution.

Although we will thank Drew appropriately if and when he leaves us, I'd like to place on record both mine and the club's gratitude for all he has done and continues to do for the club.
