Wimbledon Ballot Opt-In & Half-Term Junior Tennis Camps

The Wimbledon Ballot Opt-In closes on 22 February 2019 and we only have 126 members Opted-In.

The number of Wimbledon Tickets allocated to the Club is dependent on the number of British Tennis members who have opted in by the closing date.  Last year we had 27 pairs of tickets, which was less than the previous year.  Even if you don’t want to go to Wimbledon please can I ask you to Opt-In to maximize the Club’s ticket allocation.

AGM, Court availability, Wimbledon

Just a reminder that the club AGM commences at 7.30pm this coming Monday 28th January. Agenda and papers are in the Members' section of this website. After the formal part of the meeting, our new Head Coach Phil Thomas will make a brief presentation outlining his plans for coaching at the club. Following the meeting, there will be a glass of wine with bread and cheese for attendees.

RLTC Coaching Team Update

It is with great pleasure that I’m able to confirm that Tom Richards will become Senior Coach working under our new Head Coach Phil Thomas, starting in the New Year. Phil commented, “I’m delighted that we have secured the services of a very popular and respected RLTC Coach, and Tom will play a big part in helping to shape the new Radyr Tennis Academy.”  Tom added, “I’m very excited for the future at Radyr, I love working here and I very much appreciate the support I’ve had from the members.”

New Head Coach

I’m both delighted and excited to announce that Radyr LTC has a new Head Coach, starting on Jan 1st 2019. Following our advert on the LTA website back in October, we were very pleased to have a number of very strong applications. Now, after a thorough process involving members representing all sections of the club, and our governing body Tennis Wales, we have appointed Phil Thomas to the role. Phil impressed us with his vision for the club, experience, energy and enthusiasm for tennis, and on court visibly improved a number of our juniors in a single session.
